Our Ministry is seeking two qualified candidates in the Regina area to participate in a Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) training session. Those who successfully complete the training will be certified CLB assessors, and may potentially become independent contractors for our Ministry.

CLBPT training is a one-day session, which will be held in Regina in March 2012. Training costs will be incurred by the Ministry.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this training, you need to meet at least three of the following criteria:

  • Have taught ESL to adults (at least 300 hours) within the last two years
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks
  • Have TESL training or have taken courses on language acquisition theory and methodology and adult education
  • Have experience in CLB-aligned programs
  • Have worked  with clients/learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Have experience interviewing clients with varying levels of English proficiency

Applying

This Call for Applications closed on February 10, 2012. 

N.B. Selected CLB assessors under contract with Immigration Services Division are expected to travel to do assessments in other communities across the province as may be required, to work flexible hours, and commit to a schedule of availability 3 months in advance. The service standard for CLBPT assessments for Immigration Services Division is that clients will receive their assessment within 7 days of the request.

Our Ministry reserves the right not to proceed or discontinue CLBPT training at any time and invites participation on the strict condition that AEEI is not liable for costs or damages of any nature incurred by the participants in preparation to attend or when attending the CLBPT training. Those who successfully complete the CLBPT training will be an independent contractor with the Immigration Services Division only when a formal written agreement is signed and delivered by both parties.
