Welcome to the Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course (YWRCC)

Are you thinking about getting a job or already working?

Your first job is an exciting experience. It can mean more independence, responsibility and money. However, you need more than a job to be "ready for work."

Do you know that because you are an inexperienced young worker, you are more likely to get hurt on the job and have problems being paid properly than more experienced workers?

Completing this Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course will help you learn about your rights and responsibilities for health and safety and labour standards — before you start work. Knowing how to look out for yourself can help you to have safe and fair work experiences.

Remember, if you are 14 or 15 years of age and want to work in Saskatchewan, you will need to provide your employer with proof (a Certificate of Completion) that you have successfully completed this Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course before you start work.

Important: You must have access to a printer to use this online version of the course.

Preparing For and Taking the Test

1. Review the course.
2. Take the Step by Step Test or the Challenge Test now.

System Requirements

This online course will perform best with a high-speed Internet connection. It is recommended that you install the most recent version of every application in the list.

1. A standard web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later, Mozilla/Firefox 1.0 or later)
2. Windows 2000/XP or later
3. At least 256 MB RAM
4. A monitor with a resolution of at least 800 x 600 (1280 x 1024 is recommended)
5. Enable ActiveX control settings
6. Adobe Flash Player plug-in
7. Adobe Acrobat Reader to download the course documents on the AEEL website.
